We are thrilled to announce Nick Chetta as the new head coach of Northshore United FC. We are confident that Coach Chetta will create the same high level of professionalism and respect he continues to find at other organizations to which he is associated. Chetta has a proven track record at the high school and club level. “I know he will be truly committed to bringing success to the club,” said NUFC director Robbie McCray.
“I’m feeling excited about the opportunity to put a Semi-Pro team on the Northshore. I believe it will really make an impact on youth with giving them the ability to come and support their own team. I believe the team, in time, will become an identity with the youth just like the other major teams around,” Chetta said.
Coach Chetta is USSF certified with over 17 years coaching experience. He is currently the high school boy’s and girl’s head coach at Northlake Christian School as well as a staff coach at Mandeville Soccer Club. Chetta led the Northlake Christian boys soccer team to two Division III state championship titles in 2011 and 2016.
As far as goals for the club, Chetta said, “My goals for this season is to make a smooth transition into the league. I believe that we will be competitive from the start and will only improve as the season goes on. I’m really looking forward to seeing this team compete, and hopeful to qualify in the near future for the Open Cup”.
“I want to run a professional tryout, the Northshore has produced a lot of talent over the years and I am hoping to see a number of players who want to continue their playing careers,” said Chetta when asked about the upcoming tryouts.
The 2017 open tryout dates are set for Saturday, April 22 and Saturday, April 29.
“I am very excited and blessed to have this opportunity to coach this team, looking forward for the tryouts and getting the season under way,” Chetta added.
